Were here!-- in South Africa!

We made it!  We're here and settled into our apartment and off to work every morning.  We're both working in the Office of General Counsel (OGC) where Dave is already involved in many interesting cases in DR Congo, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and South Africa.  His French has come in very handy as he works with reading contracts and working with local counsel.  Pam is a secretary/legal assistant and has been outlining the differing laws for hiring independent contractors in each of the 34 countries of southeast Africa.  The work is very interesting!  We are putting in long days--but the office and the grounds are so beautiful.  The picture at the top is a small part of the office building we work in.  The building is owned by the Church and has offices for about 50-60 full-time employees (from Johannesburg) and 30 missionary couples (from everywhere--mostly USA) doing many things including humanitarian, public affairs, accounting, computer experts, employment assistance, travel & visas, etc.  There are only 2 attorneys doing the legal stuff.  The lower picture is the entrance driveway to the office building.  We drive through three guarded gates to to get to the office building.  Security is a very big issue here!
The picture below is a little section of the grounds around the office building.  There are pathways all through lush vegetation, rivers, waterfalls, bridges and benches to sit in and just think.  The Church does such an amazing job of making everything so immaculate and beautifully landscaped.
